MAUschine permanently banned by ESIC for on-stage violence
German player Maurizio “MAUschine” Weber has received a lifetime ban from ESIC and will no longer be able to participate in any events under ESIC coverage.
The incident occurred at CAGGTUS LEIPZIG LAN PARTY: after a match, he attacked a member of the opposing team right on stage, which was deemed a gross violation of the ESIC Code of Conduct. Earlier, MAUschine had already received a 10-year ban from DACH CS Masters and Fragster after a violent incident in the grand final of CAGGTUS Leipzig.
In its statement, ESIC emphasizes that such behavior is unacceptable and will not be justified under any circumstances.
ESIC is a non-profit organization founded in 2016 that investigates and prevents all types of fraud in esports, including match-fixing and the use of doping. ESIC has a staff of only five employees and works in partnership with state bookmakers, tournament organizers, and betting websites. The commission forwards the results of its investigations to organizers, including Valve, who often apply the sanctions recommended by ESIC.
