BLAST Open Rotterdam will stay on the old patch

The organizers of BLAST Open Spring 2026 decided not to switch to the March Counter-Strike 2 update and to finish the tournament on the old patch, as on the first day

On March 18 Valve changed the reload mechanics: now when changing a magazine, unused bullets are lost, and the number of spare magazines depends on the weapon.

To avoid disrupting the tournament, BLAST will not update the game version even for the playoffs on March 27–29. Fans will see the new mechanics on LAN only at PGL Bucharest 2026, which starts on April 4.
